I've just registered on this site. My paternal grandfather, Frederick Bremner, was a Trooper in the South African Constabulary from 1901 - 1904 (#2023). I've been privileged to receive a number of documents supporting his tenur, his medals, and some interesting items that I'll write about at a later time. I'll be looking further into information on this website, particularly information about the activities of the SAC.

My grandfather came from Turriff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland when he enlisted in the Boer War. Later he emigrated to Canada and from there enlisted in 1915 as part of the Canadian Expeditionary FOrce, serving in France and England until discharge in 1919. Died in Toronto Canada in 1936.

Glad to have found this site. Jane

Hello Jane.....

There is a book called "No Colours, No Drums" by Jim Wallace, ISBN 1-894255-27-5 which is the history of the Canadians in the SAC..... Since they were an intigrated force I am sure that where the Canadians went the British and others went so you may be able to find out some history there......

Seems he also served in the Gordon Highlanders.....

Here is his Canadian papers:
