Hi Everyone

I have just joined the forum and am new to the Anglo Boer War. Most of my research is related to WW1 memorial research.

In Farsley, West Yorkshire, there is a memorial to the South African War (photo attached) and I am trying to find further information of Lance Corporal A Cordeaux who is named on it. I am researching the Cordeaux family who lived in the area for many years and am trying to establish whether the hero named is Arthur Cordeaux. Sadly I do not know his regiment or other details.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Jim

Jim
I had a look in the Palmer Casualty roll for L/Cpl A.Cordeaux (in the hope of adding at least a unit/Regiment) - but there is no entry under that name. Does not mean that the plaque is wrong; the chap may have been invalided home and died of disease later. Seeing that the memorial is in West Yorkshire, I took the liberty of scanning through the ABW West Yorks medal roll. Unfortunately, I found no entry for your man. Worth a try.
Regards
IL.
