Can anyone tell me anything about this unit, please? 150 men are recorded as serving. It sounds like a complete anomaly compared to the titles of all the other units listed on the website as having served in the Natal Uprising of 1906
I am researching Frederick Charles Morrison who received the 1906 Natal bar and was KiA 7th February 1915 serving as a Corporal in 1st Bn Rifle Brigade.

Denis
I always understood that the Lancaster and York Contingent was recruited from the local Lancaster and York ASSOCIATION; not associated with either regiment.

Dear Linneyl
Thank you very much indeed for this pointer.. As a result of your help I have looked at excerpts from James Stuart's book " A History of the Zulu Rebellion 1906" and as there is quite a lot of comment about the Lancaster and York Contingent I have purchased a second hand copy which will give me a lot to go on.
Much obliged!
All the best
Denis
