Hello all. Just joined forum. I am a history nut - love anything factual about any period, especially military, local history (I live in Newcastle upon Tyne), titanic, all kinds. I have seven dolls houses that I work on which I have designed as a shop, a boutique, a doctors' surgery, a church, a school, etc, all in the Victorian style. I love reading, embroidery, drawing, and photography. I like to keep busy. I am also researching my family tree - a mammoth task as my family is HUGE. While doing this, I have come across a great, great, great, uncle, who was in the Boer war. His name was William Hannant, service number 4204. He was in the Highland Light Infantry 1st Bn and was taken prisoner on 23 Nov 1900 at Dewetsdorp. He was released and survived war - but I know nothing else. Can anyone help please? Many thanks Sharon
