My name is Dave Borthwick (Canada) and I am retired Canadian Army Regular (27 Years). Two of my great-uncles served with the RCR 2nd Canadian Special Service Force 1899-1900 in the AngloBoer War. They were both members of the 5th Royal Scots of Canada and were awarded the QSA medal with clasps for Paardeburg, Dreifontein and Cape Colony. They were listed in Hopkins and Halstead in "E" Company (Montreal) as Jones, F. (Frederick Thomas [Tom] Jones) and Malin, J. (John [Jack] Rochester Malin). I have been doing family genealogy for about 5 years. I am currently trying to find the location of their medals for I have had no luck with living relatives. Tom Jones was reportedly involved for a number of years in Boer War soldiers reunions in Montreal.
