Sadly on another note the WW1 monument at Bedford (in South Africa) was totally destroyed when a driver fell asleep behind the wheel of his truck carrying a full load of potatoes on the weekend apparently.

I take it the driver been charged with a particular offence, idiots like that can quite easily kill someone, a person might have actually been looking at the monument at that exact moment.

If this was Russia it could have been possible he was driving a mobile Vodka distillery and had over indulged on the sampling process

I doubt that the driver will be charged, and, even if he was, nothing further would come of it. The Economic Freedom Fighters may even approve. If all the bad drivers in SA were put behind bars dozens of new prisons would be required.
