EKF - I checked 'In Memoriam' which usually has full details but strangely both these men are just shown as died with no more information on cause and date of death, place of burial, etc.

Then, they probably died outside of SA - either in England or on board ship.

Hi all

I have looked at Kew in

BT334/22 deaths/ burials at sea 1899 -1901
and
BT334/27 deaths / burials at sea 1902 - 1905

The G R O index has nothing in the time line

and I can find nothing in the medals lists and no service numbers .

Entirely possible they died in England only under orders for SA - therefore would not be on a medal roll. I have seen a few on memorials like this - next stop local newspapers.
