Today marks the 12th anniversary of the site's first appearance on the web.

In the last year, the site has welcomed 136,888 visitors who have opened 227,583 sessions on the site, viewing 921,559 pages. On average, visitors spend 4 minutes on the site and view 4 pages per session. Of all the sessions last year 59% were from people visiting the site for the first time.

The top five countries in term of access are: UK (38%, SA (26%), US (8%), Aus (8%), Canada (6%), NZ (2%), Ireland (1%), Holland (1%). There are 201 countries from where the site has been accessed.

Many people only visit the site once. At the other end of the scale, the group of people with more than 200 accesses in the year account for 21,081 session and 125,506 pageviews on the site.

The forum is a key part of the site. The total number of posts stands at 47,083. There have been 5,583 posts this year.



The City Coins thread has a total number of views of 20,600. The fascinating thread on unusual combinations has has 37,600 views, the Indian Contingent 26,700 views and the books thread 38,000 views.

I am pleased that the site continues to flourish and very much appreciate the input of many members whose support enables this. I also appreciate the support of medal auctioneers and dealers who allow their images to be reproduced here. The support of the Anglo Boer War Museum in Bloemfontein has been wonderful and has resulted in the addition of many photos and names and the growth of the Boer section of the site.
