I am a keen collector of military whistles my collection comprises of around 100 all different dates and from different campaigns, a few from the Boer War period. I recently purchased a very nice Silver Vesta Match Case with a crown inscription RPR (Railway Pioneer Regiment) 1900 - 1902 Non Sine Lahore, on the reverse 2nd & 3rd R.P.R T.A From J.E.C what are my chances of finding out from the initials who these two people were.

Well the JEC might well be Lt.Col JE Capper 1st Railway Pioneer Regiment, The commanding Officer for a start. The TA Might be T Adamson of the 2nd Battalion ( Lt Paymaster) I imagine. Both from the rolls WO100/265
Looking for Salutries, Salootries and Veterinary Duffadars.
I collect primarily QSAs to Indian Recipients.

Gaoler E D Lightening served with the Natal Police - I am sure someone will be here soon to help out.

Do you have any medals, diaries, photographs or letters of his?

Welcome and good luck
