Could anyone tell me the dates this Regiment existed, particularly when it was disbanded

The "South African Welsh" was raised in Cape Town on the 18th of January 1901 and for official purpose, at least, was disbanded at Middleburg on new years eve, that same year, however, a small cadre remained well into 1902, the KSA is rare to a member of the regiment.

Yes, indeed, from inception, in actual fact, some of their officers wore the Welsh Dragon on their tunic buttons!

They were a very good anti commando regiment, they did spent much of their really rather short existence, out on the veldt, chasing wretched Christiaan De Wet, some of their number had encountered him before, on occasion and very clearly felt most aggrieved.
