For the last couple of years I have been undertaking a remembrance project for the heroes of ww 1 & 2 that fell from my village in north Wales..

I have just found out last night the following three young men died in the Boer War that went to school In my village.

Astur B Coddington
Percy Legget
Ralph R Williams

I have found information on Astur B Coddington, however I'm unable to find any information on the other two. Any help would be very gratefully received..

Welcome to the site.
You might already have this for Astur B. Coddington - just in case you do not: 2nd Lt., Killed in Action, Dreifontein 10/3/00 serving with 1st Bn, Essex Regt. He was born in 10/1877, educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond and entered the Essex Regt. in 2/1898. This officer's death is mentioned in the despatch of Field Marshal Earl Roberts from Bloemfontein, 15th March, 1900.
The above from the Palmer Casualty roll).
I can't find a "P. Legget" in the Palmer roll; similarly with "R.R.Williams" - although there are several entries for "R.Williams". The Palmer roll is unfortunately not entirely comprehensive and others on this site may be able to delve further for you. It is possible that both of those chaps may have died at home subsequent to their SA service. Have you tried the archives of your local newspapers?
Good luck with your research
IL.

Wendy,

I cannot find a P Legget or Leggett in the casualty lists. Are any other spellings possible?

Similiarly, while there are many R Williams on the roll, no R R Williams were casualties as far as I can see. There were a handful of R Williams who were casualties though.
