Please could anyone help me?

I am looking for information on my great grandfather Charles Broadhusrt. He was born in 1877 and I think he fought in the Boer War with the Kings Own Royal Lancasters. If anyone could let me have any further details I would be most grateful.

Thoams Riddell was born in 1869 in Hexham, Northumberland and I have been told that he also fought in the Boer War. Unfortunately I have no more etails on this. An unusual note is that his wife Mary Annie (Smith) died in Africa in 1924 but was actually brought back to Hexham to be buried. In this period of time I would have thought that this would be too expensive for most people.
Again, if anyone could shed any more light on this I would be mostgrateful.

I have found a Charles Broadhurst in the Ancestry Medal rolls:
C Broadhurst Campaign or Service: South Africa - Second Boer War Service Date: 1899-1902 Service Location: South Africa Regiment or Unit Name: 2nd Battalion The King's Own Royal Lancaster Regimental Number: 4809
He was entitled to a Transvaal clasp but not entitled to the Kings South Africa Medal.
He was invalided 12.02.02
