Intriguing indeed. I have examined the KSA more closely now - the embossing is very different to the QSA, which has a fine script, whereas the KSA has a very heavy script and I think I can see remnants of a finer script underneath it... Looks like it may have been renamed some time ago.. t came in a tin with other unrelated medals which a local antiques dealer had just taken in. Does he appear on the roll for Joh with the 8th MI or is that perhaps bogus? Thanks for taking the time to look this up. Much obliged. I'll attach some pics later if my tech is up to it.

His clasps are confirmed on the QSA roll and he definitely served with the 8th MI.
