New to the Forum
I have an interest in military history and have put together two booklets on Albury New South Wales soldiers who fought in the Boer War.
My current research is in a quilt - ? Boer War uniform quilt - Size 1700x1780mm - Wool Blend
Research is being undertaken to identify this uniform based quilt.
The Quilt was donated to the Albury Historical Society (New South Wales) in 1972 by a local resident. The item had a description that identified the donor and that her English grandparents were the makers using uniform materials.(Presumably British uniforms) The quilt is now under the appropriate climate control and care provided by the Albury City Library Museum in southern New South Wales.
Dating is unknown but possibly Boer War vintage. If any members know of similar quilts that will aid in a identification that would be of great assistance
An image is attached as part of this research.
