Good day everyone!

Thank you so much for approving me! I have recently been researching my family tree, which, according to my late grandmother, links up to Oud Prez Paul Kruger. I have managed to get to a man and his son, both known as Daniel Francois Cornelis/Cornelius Kruger. I am currently looking into the son and have found that he was a part of the Second Anglo-Boer War, as part of the Boer Forces. He become a Boer POW and was sent to Ceylon, specifically camp Diyatalawa.

This is amazing to me, because I did not even know I had a family member involved in this, but my question is...Does anyone know how the POWs traveled back to South Africa after the the Treaty of Vereeniging? I know he did not die there, but rather in Johannesburg, but I cannot find any information of the ships that took them back as well as the date of their arrival.

Can anyone help me with this?

His details are as follows:

Daniel Cornelis Francois Kruger (also known by Dani Kruger)
POW number:13884
Age:18
Arrival at Ceylon:1900/09/02
POW ship: Ranee 2
POW camp: Diyatalawa
Captured in: Fouriesberg
