Hi Forum,
I am new to the site and researching my family tree and was hoping someone on the forum might be able to help me..
I have an ancestor, William Hartas Jackson, the record I have for him is this:
Service number 4157 Trooper, Kitcheners Horse
Source: Nominal roll in WO127 Kitchener's Horse
I have burial back in the village he was born. He died 1900 aged 20.
I would like to know if I have the right bloke, as the family rumour is that he died in the Boer war, but the burial does not quite match.
How can i find out the Trooper William Hartas Jackson army record, to confirm please?
Kind regards
Jeff Jackson

Welcome to the forum, Jeff.

There are three entries for him on this site, the nominal roll and two casualty entries.

The nominal roll says he joined Kitchener's Horse 22 February 1900 and died of disease in Johannesburg 16 June 1900.

The casualty entries confirm he died in South Africa:

He was buried in South Africa. Is he buried in his native village or is there a memorial to him?
