I was looking at the Nominal Roll pages for the Imp Lt Horse today and noticed what looks to be the word 'Coronation" written in red on the far right of J H Logan's name.

Can anyone verify if Logan was in fact part of the Coronation Contingent? I have his QSA & KSA.

Thanks in advance.

Jim

Yes, he was. "519 Tpr. J.H.T.Logan 1/ILH". The South African attendees who received the Coronation medal are listed on this site.
As an OR, he would have received a bronze medal/

Thanks IL, that is the best news I have had all week. Now to find a 1902 Coronation Medal.

I thought the Coronation attendees were listed on this site but couldn't find them. Typing in 'Coronation Contingent' in the search bar didn't work.
Can you point me in the right direction?

Logan's QSA has the RoM, Elands, Trans & OFS clasps. Purchased from one of the South African auction houses, quite an expensive purchase, but worth every $ (in my opinion).

Thanks again,

Jim

Go the "Search" button and enter "1902 Coronation medal rolls to South Africans".
A bronze 1902 Coronation should not be too hard to get. A few years ago, I found out that one of my ILH chaps, Capt. D.L.Maxwell, DSO, was on the list and I had a bit of a time getting a silver 02 Coro. I had to go around the bigger UK dealers.
