According to the Merthyr Express 30 Oct 1915, George Everett served through the Boer War with the Queen’s Medal with five bars, also the King’s Medal with two bars. Can someone please tell me what are these five bars.

If this is 6357 Pte G Everett of the 2nd South Wales Borderers, he earned the KSA (2) South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 and .. oh .. the QSA (3) CC OFS and Tr. So that is probably not him.

There are a few other G Everetts listed on the rolls. Do you have any more information on him?

I have been through the other G Everetts and cannot see any with QSA (5) so will need more information to be able to pursue.

I found a second snippet in the same newspaper dated 5 Feb 1916 which says:-
"Cpl Everett is an old soldier, having served through the South African War with the Essex Regiment. He also served through the East African Expedition." Hope this will help.
