I wanted to start with some harder medals as I am engaged and my girl is a bit of a ball braker so I am sure future purchases will be heavily controlled lol.

DJB thank you for the links. The pair at citycoins was a really nice one and I was tempted but I decided to bid on the Mafeking Defenders WIA QSA which I was lucky to win. The words trenches, night raid, bayonet charge and being wounded really made me want to secure it. I liked it also as I did some research and found out Capt. Fitzclarence was awarded the VC for that raid so my chap was wounded in a VC action. Its my first QSA and it has opened a new interest and passion.

As for the other link I know of that particular dealer and I do not buy anything from him. He has atleast 3 RAF groups listed at prices over 10,000 pounds and I believe all are fakes, one for sure as the originals are in a museum.

What is the story with your avatar picture? Iron Cross and a QSA?

A VC action QSA is a very nice addition to any collection.

The avatar relates to the partially reconstructed group to Alexander von Stosch. I must endeavour to find out his other entitlement.

You will find it easier to find a DofM for your collection than a dated Strathcona or at least a lot cheaper LOL......

Nicholas - I add my welcome to those who've already posted. You certainly got off to a flyer with your first QSA!

I must say that I've also found that particular dealer to be rather hyperbolic with many of his descriptions as well as premium priced. I too have never bought from him.
