Hello, you very kindly helped me a few years ago researching a family member (Joseph Dawson, quite an interesting Boer career!)and wondered if you could help again? I'm trying to find some information on Alfred G Parnell. His number was 5202 and he was in the 7th Hussars. Its a family friends Grandfather. She still has his small book and was wondering if a museum would like to have it and if so, where could she give it to? She is quite elderly now and would love any information. I have filled her in using research on the 7th Hussars but we would welcome any other information?

Hello Sam
Welcome back to the forum.
I could only find 1 medal roll to Alfred.
5202 A Parnell 7th Hussars.
QSA Medal with 3 clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State & Transvaal. There is a note on the far right of the paper work regarding the 2 date clasps. 1901-1902. However, above that there is a note pertaining to Kings Medal clasps (1921) . It is possible he may have been awarded his QSA with his 3 clasps and later received his KSA medal. The medal roll is dated 15th November 1902 at Krugersdorp. R.G Lawley Lieut-Col 7th (QO) Hussars. Do the family have Alfred's medal / medals?
Regarding the small book, there is the Queens Royal Hussars Regimental Association , I think they may have a museum.
Best regards
Dave
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
Best regards,
Dave
