I joined this network in the hope it could help me discover further information about my great grat grandfather WIlliam Burton and his brother James both of whom served with the Worcester regiment in south Africa. William was a drummer and rifleman with 1st batallion - I know this from a picture I have of him which was taken in plymouth before the battalion set sail.
I have located them both in the medal list but would like to know if I can discover more detailed information about where they might have been located in s Africa.
I know James was "slightly wounded" in MIddlefontein on Jan 25 1901 when he was with the 2nd battalion I have been unable to discover where this place was or what might have taken place that day I am hoping someone might have an idea for a next step.
