Help is needed !!!!
The London Irish Rifles provided a service Coy to 2nd Bn RIR, Det to the CIV and numerous individuals to the Imp Yeo and other units.
the LIR Museum has a 'Lieut C R MARTIN Medical' listed but I can find no record of such a person?
There is a civilian surgeon listed as 'C Martin' but that is as far as I can get - I really am drawing a blank HELP !
thanks in advance

My copy of "War Services of the Army, etc" has an entry for one "Martin, C.R. (Capt., 16 Middx. VRC) - served as Civil Surgeon, Queen's medal with three clasps".
Something to get your teeth into?
Regards
IL.

That is great info and remarkably quick thank you so much.
I believe he was in South Africa 12/12/1899 – 01/01/1901 as part of a 'Medical Dept' according to his Regimental (16th Mdx VRC) Roll.
Im out of my depth here on Civilian Surgeons where would I be able to confirm his three clasps and what would his medal naming be?

thank you
