I am forced to the conclusion that the journalist who wrote the obituary had 'grasped the wrong end of the stick' and gone to print with out checking, The article contains other factual errors including that its subject became Dalhousie's batman after demobilisation.
It is easy to see how a remark like 'We ran around like Blundell's greyhounds" could be misconstrued after several verbal transmissions.
