Hi All
Would anyone have any information about this man, he was my Great Grandfather, was badly wounded at Scheepers Nek and returned after being a prisoner of the Boers. My research has hit a wall.

Hello smart799
Welcome to the forum.
I have found an entry ref your G Grandfather on this site as being severely wounded on the 20th May 1900 at Vryheid. He was released from the Boers at Newcastle on the 21st June 1900.
There is a NOK reference which records the George Moir institute for the blind in Dundee.
His total service with Bethunes Mounted Infantry was from 5/1/1900 until 25/1/1901.
His medal rolls are available. When I get more time this evening I will upload them and see if I can find out any more details for you regarding James.

Best regards

Dave.......

Information from this site as mentioned in previous post.
