I have a QSA that was made into a broach and am wishing to restore it to original state.
issued to HA van Zyl DMP any clues where this trooper served and any research help and explaination will be greatly appreciated. Tkx Free Sate Burgher

I suspect that 'DMP' may stand for 'District Mounted Police' and refer to a branch of the police in the Cape Colony. The example I once owned was named to Pte J J du Preez and it had no clasp.

Perhaps Adrian (cape police) can supply more information.
