St. Mary's Church with it's scaffold clad tower undergoing major refurb.


Brass plaque and stained glass window to the left wall of the Chancel.


Brass plaque with black lettering with capital letters highlighted in red. Ornate border with the Warwickshire bear above script.
Inscription thus:

who fell during the Boer War in South Africa

MAJOR JAMES ALEXANDER ORR-EWING
KILLED IN ACTION AT KHEIS ON 28/05/1900.
INTERRED AT BOEGOEBERG DISTRICT, BRANDBOOM, MONUMENT 3.
QSA:CAPE COLONY.

LIEUTENANT RICHARD FORDHAM FLOWER.
KILLED IN ACTION AT HAMMANSKRAAL ON 20/08/1900.
INTERRED AT PETRONELLA, MONUMENT 1.
"LT. Richard Fordham Flower , 2nd Battalion Imperial Yeomanry, was killed in action at Human's Kraal (taken from Palmer 1999). He was educated at Eton (Mr. Luxmoore's). LT. Flower, who was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Warwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry, entered the Imperial Yeomanry 7th February 1900, with the rank of Lieutenant in the Army, and proceeded to South Africa with the Warwickshire Company of the 2nd Battalion."

Also commemorated at Eton College Chapel, Luptons Chantry and a stained glass window at St. Michael's Church, Broadway, Worcestershire.

Inscribed thus:
"TO THE GLORY OF GOD

5TH COMPANY IMPERIAL YEOMANRY
WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION NEAR
EDENBURG, ORANGE RIVER COLONY
SOUTH AFRICA, 6TH MARCH 1901.
THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY RELATIONS
AND FRIENDS AS A TOKEN OF
AFFECTION AND ESTEEM
"BLESSED IS THE MAN INTO WHOM
THE LORD IMPUTETH NO SIN AND IN
WHOSE SPIRIT THERE IS NO GUILE."
