Anyone any info on this fellow as listed above, I think he may have been from Dundee, South Africa, not the Scottish town in Angus.

The Smith roll for BMI shows "748 Tpr. R.W.Smart " as hailing from Dundee, S.A.

There is no BMI attestation paper that I can see for him.

You could search FamilySearch for marriage and death records relating to him.

His middle name was Wilson ( www.angloboerwar.com/unit-information/so...ted-infantry?start=1 )

He appears to have been born in England c 1860

He was married in Durban in 1904 and died in Durban Death, 21 March 1939.
