Good Morning Amazing Helpers
I have been working on a family tree and have a missing wife which I am hoping you may be able to assist with please

William Henry Storey I found. He served in the Mafikeng war in stores and had a bride Petronella Penfold. The missing link I am looking for William Henry Storey’s mother May.
I believe Henry to be born in SA as I have his grandparents George Robert Storey and wife Maria Anne White already married in SA. I cannot find boat passage for George Robert Storey anywhere and believe he might of came to SA as a soldier.
To recap:
George Robert Storey b 1809 & Maria White had in SA
William Henry Storey b 1846 & ‘May’ ??had
William Henry Storey b 1876 & Nellie Penfold ( Mafikeng )

If you do have access to William H Storey of Mafikeng sign up papers perhaps you may be able to see his mothers maiden name. If so I would be very grateful for any help if any kind.
Thank you kindly,
Regards,
Megan Peinke

Megan,

There are no attestation papers for the Mafeking Town Guard sadly.

I have William Storey as being born 4 July 1879 in England, son of John Horne Storey. He married Nellie Penfold in Mafeking, 23 November 1903. Died 22 February 1962 aged 82.

I am double-checking this information as it is different to yours.

Thank you very much Dr Biggins - I appreciate your response and I look forward to seeing if you able to locate any new information.

I have changed my tree to your suggestion to see if the tree creates/attracts leads. I have seen John Horne Storey as a witness on a baptism so it is absolutely possible.

Thanks again,
Kind regards
Megan Peinke
