As well as being the owner of 'Aberdeen Medals', I am also a long standing medal collector.

While I do not collect South African War medals per-se, I do have a general interest in the South African War and in particular the history of the men and women from the North East of Scotland (principally Aberdeenshire, Kincardineshire, Banffshire and Morayshire) that served in South Africa 1899-1902.

As information.

Yours aye,
Mark

I have a shortening collecting 'wish list', which includes a Gordon Highlanders' QSA with clasps Elandslaagte and Defence of Ladysmith. I can, however, understand why people collect the medals of Scottish soldiers of whatever regiment and era.

Mark,

I know just what Brett means when he talks about the collecting of medals to Scottish soldiers. Their fighting spirit was, I think, second to none.

Good luck!
