Hi, my name is Alan
I'm trying to trace my grandfather, who my family tell me served in the Boer War.
But I have very little information... this is all I have

John Beasley
Born in East London in 1869 and died in 1937
What, if any, thing can I find with that information?

Many thanks

Hello Alan
Welcome to the forum.
Is it possible to provide any details on your Grandfather's parents names and possible profession?
For example was he a Baker by trade? Any little additional details may help the forum in helping you with your quest.

Best wishes

Dave.....
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
Best regards,
Dave

Hi Alan, and welcome to the forum.

Just to clarify : was that East London in England, or East London in the Cape Colony/Province?
Regards
Arthur

Hi
This is all the information I have. I realise it's not much, but here we go...
His name was John Beasley
He was married to Alice Jane Green in 1895
He was a Labourer
The 1901 Census shows Alice at home on her own with two children. (She's shown as Wife, not Widow or Head)
At that time they lived at...
8 Gainsbourgh Cottages
Hackney Wick
London
England
I'm sorry, but that's all I have.

Many thanks for listening to me
Alan
