hi. we have thomas enlisting in 1900 3rd bat S.L.I number 4236 but his boer war medals are in 2nd bat .S.L.I number 6276. can he have moved bat and changed his number?

hi david ,thanks for your interest . it seems that thomas wallett enlisted in 1900 with the 3rd bat S.L.I. 4236 but his boer war medals are under 2nd bat S.L.I 6276 . just trying to find out if he was moved but why the diff number ? also in ww1 went into R.E. under 86410 number . is this all normal ? lemondog
