Any info/background please - embroidered/fabric 'Gallantry Badge' in my possession, in company with Cape of Good Hope Medal/Cape Colony; South Africa Medal/Transvaal; Defence of Mafeking; Orange Free State; and South Africa/South Africa 1902; South Africa 1901 (as well as 1914/18 medals).

The Noquai - any connections? Especially immediately prior to November 1930?

Or Major J.W. Browne, Cape Police D11?

Any information to flesh out inherited paternal ancestors memorabilia gratefully acknowledged.

These badges might have been individually manufactured?

All but identical - but the one I hold and which I must still get into digital form, is more of an oval - along the lines of ( ); similar with Crown an top and 'Gallantry' along the bottom quarter. Also a difference in the 'leaf' surround. The one I hold being almost a 'fern leaf' replica.

I will try and get the picture and accompanying 'letter' together and onto the web.

This surge of response is commendable - in direct competition with 2012 Olympics . . .
