Hi,

My interest began when I was given my great uncle's QSA when my grandfather died. My great uncle had served as 4748. Pte E. Clark, 12th Lancers and was killed in action in May, 1901. The medal roll shows him as deceased but I believe that his details were confused with someone else's in the SAFF Casualty List.

Since then I have become a medal collector speciallizing in medals to recipient's with my own surname, and there are just under 300 who served in the Boer War.

I have found them to be an interesting, and often frustrating group to research due to the absence of records to some.

I am hoping to learn something through angloboerwar

Hello Nick

And a warm welcome to the forum.
That is quite a specialised field you are collecting and I wish you luck.
Look forward to reading your future posts.

Paul :)
