Hello everyone, could anyone please tell me if V E HUNTER served as a medical officer during the boer war please? I have his telescope lense and case and have found him mentioned in the British medical journal while serving as a staff surgeon in Mandalay and Bombay during the late 1880's so I'm wondering if he also served during the Boer war. Sorry I only have his initials and not his full name.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had a look at the medal roll index on Ancestry and returned no matches in a search for V Hunter. Removing the initial brought a match with someone of this name who served as a civil surgeon in Cape Colony.



I'm not sure if it is him. The reason the initials do not appear in the electronic index is that they are very feint on the page:
