I am a new member about to research my Grandfather's history (Private W. Page)
member of the Imperial Yeomanry Hospital staff. Any info would be much appreciated. I will be posting photos of his medals in due course.

Hello Barny and welcome to this forum,
Sorry for not posting this last week when I saw this post, your grandfather is shown twice in WO100/130, on page 233 in respect of his QSA and Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal clasps, this is the medal roll of the Imperial Yeomanry Hospital Staff Pretoria and his rank shown is Orderley.
He is also on the I Y Hospital's supplementary roll, WO100/130 page 253 in respect of the South Africa 1901 Clasp.
Regards Frank

Thank you Frank,
In my younger days, as a RN/RM medic, on weekends I was able to bring home small bottles of neat "Pusser's" rum, which were given to me from Maltese Wardroom messmen. These tots I gave to my grandad, and he talked about his Boar and WW1 recollections. Sadly I never wrote them down and remember very little that he told me.
Thank you again
Regards
Barney

A question
Q. Is the Imperial Hospital Corps the same as Imperial Yeomanry Hospital?

Dear Barney,

There is a superb three volume history with illustrations of the Imperial Yeomanry Hospitals, edited by one of its founders. It's available as a reprint and should also be available through an inter-library loan. It will give you a very good indication of what your grandfather did, he may even be mentioned.

"The Imperial Yeomanry Hospitals in South Africa 1900-1902", edited by Countess Howe, published in London 1902, three vols.

Best wishes,

Justin
