John Mather was a professional soldier who, after his service in the Boer war, emigrated to NZ and fought during WW1 in the Samoan campaign.

He was my great Uncle who never married and died in 1939 in the Greymouth area of NZ aged 66.

Does anyone have any photos of this war hero..he was a tough man apparently...and only 5'4 tall.

Kind regards

Peter Roe

Greetings, Peter
You may have more luck getting info. and photos on the forum if you told us everything you can about John Mather. For example, what was his date of birth, which units did he serve in, etc.
You've posted on the Relief of Ladysmith thread; do you think he was involved in this campaign?
The more background info. you can provide, the better.
