TOPIC:

On eBay there is an ABO to a WF Davis General Cloete commando.

Any ideas who General Cloete is?

I can't find him in DSAB or Die Boere Offisiere - just a Lt Cloete of Theron's verkenners.

I can't find any references during the Boer War to a General Cloete.

Davis' Application "Vorm B" may shed some light on what Cloete Officer he elevated in rank!

I have found that, especially with the later applications (1950's onwards) and those submitted by relatives, there were certain liberties taken with commando's etc.
