Hello, and thank you all for being here. While digging through the layers of my genealogical past I learned I have an ancestor who campaigned in India and South Africa. My g-g-grandfather served with the Seaforth Highlanders for near twenty and a half years. At various times he held the rank of Private, Piper, Lance Corporal, and Drummer. His discharge documents state he was "a very good piper". So what was the roll of the Piper?

His name and number: Isaac McHarrie 2827.

At some point I would like to assemble the medals and clasps to which was entitled and make a display with his picture.

So, I'll be asking for help,

Thanks,

George

George,

His QSA is listed on Wo100/203 p63 with clasps Paardeberg, Driefontein, Wittebergen, Cape Colony and Transvaal.

His unit is the 2nd Seaforth Highlanders.

George,

The QSA roll says he was sent home to England having completed his period of service on 24 June 1901.

His remaining clasp SA01 was issued of roll WO100/203p139.

The service papers mentioned by Paul will fill in much detail for you.

Kind regards
David
