My first time here.
My main area of interest is WW1, where I had at least 3 relatives who saw action. One of whom also saw action in the Boer War with the 2nd Bn Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. He was awarded the QSA and five clasps. After a short spell as an 'Old Contemptible' he was taken prisoner on the Western Front and spent as miserable time at a pumishment camp in Germany. After the war he became the DCLI's RSM

His name was William Finch. A long shot here, but I would love to find his medals, QSA (5) 1914 Star (bar) trio and LSGC Medal.

If anyone has them - here I am.

DCLI,

Thank you for your post. I had a look at the Finches listed on the DNW site, 34 in number, but your relative was not listed amongst those whose medals have been sold.

Hopefully you can be re-united with them one day.

Best wishes
David
