Many thanks for this. There are a number of photos on the sites, which again are clear from a distance, but being thumbnails, you can't zoom in too well, but it supports my thoughts for another visit!!

sorry I couldn't be of more help, Bergendal is about a 2 hour drive away.
If there's a photo that you are interested in, in the ones I posted on the forum, I can email them to you. My original would have higher definition, 1.2 MB whereas those one the forum are 30 - 40 KB . You can pm me your email address if you so wish.

I hope this helps, this memorial was originally located where the main Boer Memorial is today and was moved to its present position, in the process the original name stone was broken and replaced by the current granite slab.

Excellent, thanks. It looks like his name is spelt wrong on this, as it is on the medal roll, but his short attestation papers confirm its him, thank goodness!
