My interest in the Boer War is genealogical.

I am looking for evidence of a Swemmer being secretary to one of the Boer Generals. And I am interested to know how much of an impact the Slagtersnek Rebellion had on the start of the War, the Rebellion having been sparked by a certain Cornelis Frederick Bezuidenhout, my wife being a descendant of his brother, Gerrit.
