I am a new member who collects anything related to the Boer War: Medals, Letters, Equipment.

I Hope to tap in to the knowledge of older collectors for their advice.

I am not totally computer literate but hope to converse with other users.

thanks paul, I recently acquired a cash book taken from the fight at the south rand gold mine, and used as a diary. It was taken by Lt H K Bracewell and there are many entries of raids, boer posisions, casualties, prisoners etc I also have his medals,and a photo album. he was ,according to his comission 2nd Lt volunteer battalion D O Wellingtons west riding Regt but cannot find him in the rolls, ,, it says volunteer forces,could you throw any light on this,regards saxon.

It sounds like you have many interesting items in your collection. Coming from a medal background, there were many items I had never before experienced or see (or even knew about!) so the forum has been a real journey for me.
