I am researching the men commemorated on the war memorial in Broadway who died during the First World War for a book of commemoration, Broadway Remembers.

A few of the men also fought in the Boer War. I am currently researching George Sandel (Sandals or Sandell) and Oswald Swift Flower.

Further details can be found on my website www.warmem.broadwaymanor.co.uk .

Broadway,

Welcome to the forum!

Your work on the Broadway memorial sounds very interesting.

I have searched the QSA rolls for O Flower(s) and found no matches. What makes you think he served in the Boer War?

There a few possibilities for the other chap.

G Sandall - 2nd Gloucesters
G Sandell - 2nd Gloucesters (may be same chap?)
G Sandels - 2nd Worcestershire

David

Forget the second part of that last message as I have just seen your subsequent post.
