Just wondering I have been trying to find out more about 5543 PTE J.M.MOORE. NOTTS & DERBYS REGIMENT as I am interested in a KSA medal awarded to this individual.
Ive been looking on the National Archives however I am having trouble locating a medal roll.
Is this me being inexperienced or is there an easy way to look this up?

Many thanks

Neil,

If you're a Notts & Derby man, there is a selection of medals to this Regiment in the next DNW sale.

Kind regards
David

Neil,

The Medal Roll you require is listed on the National Archives Website; simply go to the Discovery Catalogue and type in Kings south Africa Medal Roll and look for the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment (which is also known as the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters).

However, the information you require is as follows:

1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment)

QSA Medal Roll WO100/192 Page 12
5543 Pte J Moore TV Clasp Note: To England 15/01/04
(The Medal Roll was compiled when the Regiment was in Hong Kong and the above refers to him leaving Hong Kong and not South Africa).
