Hello

Joined the forum today, main interest has been World War One and I have done a lot of research on family members who served in the Great War, two of my relatives also served in the Boer War so have been getting more interested in this conflict also.

My Great Grandfather Private 6229 Arthur Frederick Aldridge served with the 2nd Bedfordshires earning the QSA with 2 bars (Cape Colony & Wittebergen) and the KSA now with rank of Cpl with the usual 1901 & 02 bars. A sergeant in the Great War has later commissioned.

His brother Private 7361 Thomas Charles Aldridge served in South Africa 18 March 1900 - 21 July 1902 with the 3rd Grenadier Guards earning the QSA with 4 bars(Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Cape Colony and Orange Free State) plus the KSA with 01 & 02 bars. In the Great War he served at home with the RAMC and Labour Corps.

Regards
Mark
