Am I right in thinking this is the crest of Kitcheners Light Horse?

The presence of a bugle in the crest indicates "light infantry" as I recall. The motto at the bottom of the crest is that of the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. The KSLI were very active during the ABW. The crown is, of course that of QVic. In the ABW there was Kitchener's Horse and Kitchener's Fighting Scouts; although I once did see KH described as KLH. Nice crest, however; is it on a plate?

I was just looking at this as Ian answered.

I agree that it is a light infantry badge and was going to suggest KSLI as they have this motto 'I rise again with increased splendour'.

I do have a small collection of SAMIF letterheads and that is not Kitchener's Horse.

Thank you for the replies guys, find it hard to see an S in the monogram but I'm sure your right KSLI it is then. This is a paper letterhead crest, have a number of these relating to the ABW will post more soon.
