Hey Guys,

I'm in my early stages of my dissertation. Done quite a bit of work on the African experience but I've been advised to avoid it... Mainly because there aren't many primary sources kicking about. So firstly I'm hunting for these. If that doesn't work out then I'll probably start focusing on British motivations for the war. So mainly Gold and diamonds but in that I could also talk about promises to Africans etc. So if anyone could point me in the direction of some good books to cover that it would be greatly appreciated. :)

I'm at Glasgow University. Decided I'm going to work around British attitudes towards the Africans. Try and split it up between the way they were ignored in the final peace, their treatment during the war in Natal, the concentration camps and then finally their fighting role. Discussion on the medals could be a very good way to describe this so thanks very much!

Any sources or other information on the above would greatly appreciated!
