I have had a note about a my grandmother's brother - that he had died in South Africa.
I found this site hoping to find perhaps where he died since I have a Regiment and Date of Death.
I do not seem to be able to find him yet.
I have found some details and wondered if soldiers killed in the war were buried in specific places or with graves marked

According to "In Memoriam" (the published Roll of Honour for Imperial Troops), Batten died of disease at Springfontein and is buried there.
