can anyone help please, did all the loyal n l regt receive a Kimberley star or does anyone now approx how many were issued to them, also did the section stationed at the botanical gardens camp see much action regards saxon.

That's a good question. There is no definitive answer but I would guess that most if not all of the LNLR offiver and men, all 436 of them, would have received the Kimberley Star. The absence of the Star in medals to this unit should not be taken to mean that they did not receive the Star, in my opinion.

The star can be found in original groups to this regiment, they tend to have "C" hallmark too, but, then most members of this regiment were not around in Kimberley to receive them when they were first presented, nor were serving members of the regiment allowed to wear it whilst in uniform.
