As above really. We can now start building a picture of Grandpa Lacey, who until recently was a forgotten ancestor! He died in 1930 a year before my father was born, as such was not talked about much by him. We became aware of him when my brother discovered his cedar wood chest in my mothers garden shed a couple of months ago. Dad passed away 3 years ago and Mum knows very little of him. We have his chest, a silver framed photograph of him in uniform, his gold pocket watch and a decanter. Unfortunately we believe his medals were sold in London in 2000, unknown by who, but his family were large and did not keep in contact, some emigrated to New Zealand. Thanks to you all we can now re discover a truly remarkable forebear.
